The healthtech startup LipoCheck has successfully raised €2.5 million in a seed financing round. The funds will be used to further develop the platform, expand telemedicine services, and drive internationalization.

Lipocheck Team Photo SpinLab Lipocheck was part of the 16th SpinLab class in Leipzig.

The financing round was led by SpinLab partner TGFS - Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen, with participation from GIMIC Ventures, the investment arm of the Osnabrück-based HealthCare Accelerator OHA, Gateway Ventures, and strategic partner Prange Group, which has multiple investments in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, as well as renowned family offices and business angels.

LipoCheck provides innovative digital health solutions for women with lipedema—a frequently undiagnosed but painful fat distribution disorder. Through its LipoCheck and LipoAlly apps, users can document their symptoms, access medical knowledge, and benefit from specialized telemedicine services. The company also collaborates closely with health insurance providers and medical professionals to ensure better care from the first suspicion to ongoing treatment.

LipoCheck has already secured three health insurance contracts, and the LipoCheck app is growing by 10% per month, reflecting the increasing demand for digital health solutions for lipedema patients.

"With this funding, we can further develop our technology, reach more patients, and scale our platform internationally," says Helena Rapprich, CEO and co-founder of LipoCheck. "Our goal is to provide millions of women worldwide with early diagnosis and the best possible access to treatment."

Dr. Stefan Rapprich, dermatologist, phlebologist, and co-founder of LipoCheck, also expresses his enthusiasm: "For decades, I have been committed to helping people affected by lipedema. Now, we are bringing this knowledge into the digital world, closing a critical gap in care that benefits all stakeholders in the healthcare system—especially the millions of affected women."

With the new funding, the startup will expand its telemedicine services, strategic partnerships with insurers and physicians, and research & development of new AI-powered modules. The company also plans to enter additional European markets and expand into the United States.
